Teignbridge Council spent £33,700 on aerial photography in a single month, I have discovered.
Two payments were made to a firm – £8,174 on January 9 and a further £25,526 just 19 days later on the 28 January.
Teignbridge is meant to be strapped for cash!
Mind you, it’s found £3,000 for a video to be made of the Olympic Flame arriving across Shaldon Bridge, £10,000 for a management consultant to advise on management changes (but he wasn’t asked to write a report apparently), £15,000 to upgrade the toilets used by councillors and up to £59,000 a year more for another top manager job.
For £33,700, I’d say more road sweeping and clearing the weeds from the road gutters would be something most residents would agree with – not piccies for the council album.
