Developers are already eyeing up land near Exminster for the 2,000 new houses Teignbridge Council has planned for the green fields.

Of course, the Teignbridge Local Plan is still a ‘draft’ and won’t even be considered by an independent planning inspector until later this year.

And even if given the go ahead, the Local Plan says the 2,000 houses would be for the latter end of the 20 year period the Plan covers.

HOWEVER, we now learn, that two developers or their agents, Bovis and Strategic Land Partnerships, are apparently in talks with both Devon County Council and Teignbridge District Council about building on the fields which are Exminster’s ‘green belt’ between the village and Exeter.

Why are the councils even talking to developers if these houses aren’t even approved yet by the Inspector?
