Problems for children walking to school have been raised with me in both Kenton and Kennford, where parking near the village schools is becoming an issue.

In Kenton, where there are parking restrictions, the county council’s parking enforcement officers have been asked to visit, particularly when vehicles park on the corners or in other places which either obstruct the road or stop children safely getting to school.

In Kennford, we had a meeting today (Tuesday) with the Parish Council, Teign Housing and Devon County Council to see what solutions could be developed that would help the school as well as the residents of the bungalows in Sanford.

I’d welcome any comments/thoughts on possible solutions or indeed if you or children you know have been affected by parking issues on their way to or from school.
